Chinese-European Networking Symposium (EC-Bridge, 03/2005)

Initiative

The 6 th Framework Programme, IST thematic area

Description

The EU-financed EC-Bridge project aims at mobilization of various actors and stimulating high-level debates and cooperation on eCollaboration, eLogistics, Research Network and Broadband Solutions in the context of mobile worker and User applications between Europe and China. This is achieved through organization of international conferences and exhibitions in Shanghai and Beijing dedicated to these issues.

EC-Bridge project also encourages joint proposal submission of the European and Chinese actors under the 6th Framework Programme and the IST Programme in particular.

Size

770 attendees (including 120 European participants and 30 exhibitors); more than 220 EOIs (Expression of Interests) signed.

Project

EU-China e-Business and e-Work Conference (e-EUChina 11/2001)

Initiative

The 5 th Framework Programme, IST thematic area

Description

A main EC-funded initiative to enhance collaboration between EU and China in the field of e-Work and e-Business, challenging the partnership opportunities between the EU and China under the 5th Framework Programme and the IST programme.

The project consisted of a series of activities, which lasted one year and a half, including a research study, a 3-day forum, several networking events, and establishment of a Center of Excellence in BSEAC's Office.

450 attendees (including 50 European)
